Message in a Bottle
By Sadie James
Living on the Ningaloo Reef has been my biggest inspiration. Interpreting the Ocean's life lessons and representing them as visual stories has become an endless pursuit. 'Message in a Bottle' depicts many of the characters I've met and what lies beneath. The metaphor of the ship as the journey in the sea of life is as old as Neptune himself. It's humbling to appreciate the context within which we find ourselves - we are just a small part of the bigger picture. The act of framing something gives it importance and when something is important, you look after it. This is also where art and conservation come together.
Veggie Party
By Teggun Ashleigh

The Western Australian Wilderness

This scratchboard belongs to a collection of works which aim to embrace the beauty of the Western Australian bush, unforseen by some. Amoungst the dry, dusty grey eucalypts nestled in the long, tall grass the Rose Mallee, Scarlet Banksia, Acorn Banksia, White Everlastings grow. Little male and female Superb fairy wrens hop to and frow on the foliage singing their morning song.
Mandacaru
By Rebeca Vonk Marins
Growing up in The Netherlands I used to spend my Summer holidays with my father in Brazil. I loved growing up between two cultures and being multicultural. The Brazilian natural world and rich folklore culture have always very much inspired me. Mandacaru, also called Cardeiro, species of treelike cactus (family Cactaceae) native to arid and semiarid regions of northeastern Brazil. Mandacaru is of local importance in traditional medicine and as livestock fodder. Its white flowers bloom at night and can be up to 25 cm (10 inches) long.
